Probably the tackiest of all the statement t-shirts is the "Made In China" onesies.
Targeted consumer: Well meaning adoptive families.
Who sports it: Little girls adopted from China. (Girls of course, because they are so much nicer.)
Punchline: Ha Ha, isn't it funny? You were wondering why a middle-class couple is holding a Asian baby. We'll literally spell it out for you!
WTF, who thought those shirts were a good idea? A shirt like that would be cute and cheeky for a college sophomore, but a child who's at the beginning of a complicated journey she nor her parents understand is . . . well tacky. Since your kid will definably not be teased or have identity issues, go ahead objectify her with a label commonly found on household items, knick-knacks, and loud obnoxious toys.
And people complain about purse dogs.
